Manufacturing Engineer
General Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining best practices, drawings, work instructions and related documents for the die cast department, secondary operations and automated inspection. Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs. Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Confer with equipment vendors. Solicit observations from operators and setup technicians. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Train with production floor personnel to understand the use of auxiliary equipment to improve the layout function of the equipment to reach customers’ expectations. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods. Test finished product and process capabilities, establish standards, and confirm manufacturing processes. Provide manufacturing decision making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures and requesting special service when needed. Review production schedules and estimate future requirements. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Microsoft Excel experience
- CAD familiarity (Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor etc.)
- Excellent note taking, organizational, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Automation Systems (PLC, Camera, Vision Systems, Pneumatic Controls etc.)

$80,000 - $90,000/annual
