Key Responsibilities
- Making and maintaining manufacturing processes for all production stages.
- Defining standard work methods and production sequences.
- Establishing repeatable processes that support quality and efficiency objectives.
- Evaluating manufacturability of new products and engineering changes.
- Supporting implementation of new materials, components, and production technologies.
- Participating in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Developing manufacturing plans for new vehicle platforms and options.
- Verifying production readiness before release to manufacturing.
- Safeguarding tooling, documentation, and training before launch.
- Creating and maintaining manufacturing work instructions, visual aids, standard operating procedures, process maps, and documentation.
- Achieving alignment of documentation with engineering requirements and released MBOMs.
- Maintaining revision control in support of ECO implementation.
- Leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to improve labor efficiency, production flow, material handling, throughput, and quality performance.
- Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Supporting Kaizen and continuous improvement projects.
- Performing time studies and labor analysis.
- Supporting takt time calculations and line balancing.
- Identifying production bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
- Recommend improvements to workflow and resource utilization.
- Supporting achievement of production throughput goals.
- Designing and implementing manufacturing fixtures, jigs, templates, and assembly aids.
- Improving ergonomics and repeatability through tooling solutions.
- Supporting procurement and validation of manufacturing equipment.
- Maintaining tooling standards and documentation.
- Participating in ECO reviews.
- Evaluating manufacturing impacts of engineering changes.
- Developing implementation plans for approved changes.
- Updating work instructions, routings, and production documentation.
- Verifying successful implementation on the production floor.
- Partnering with Quality to improve first pass yield, defect reduction, rework reduction, and process capability.
- Supporting investigations involving recurring quality issues.
- Implementing process controls to prevent quality escapes.
- Partnering with ERP Operations to ensure accurate manufacturing routings, BOM accuracy, and production reporting integrity.
- Supporting development of manufacturing KPIs and reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience supporting production operations.
- Experience developing manufacturing processes and work instructions.
- Experience with ERP-based manufacturing systems.
- Prior experience in RV manufacturing, Automotive manufacturing, Aerospace manufacturing, or Specialty vehicle manufacturing is preferred.
- Leverage of Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.
