Responsibilities
- Feasibility study, estimate, quote, evaluate, specify and purchase capital equipment and tooling for new programs or modifications to existing programs to budget.
- Interact and direct vendors to provide equipment and tooling to our standards and performance expectations.
- Launch equipment and tooling to production floor and support on-going production throughout program cycle.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and assist with quality documentation.
- Understand and perform tolerance stack ups. Solid understanding of GD &T and datum scheme.
- Investigate and Implement cost reductions through process improvements.
- Record lessons learned and revise system documentation to reduce reoccurrence.
- Responsible for producing CAD drawings when required.
- Maintains plant layout for efficient product flow within equipment.
- Maintain and organize drawing database – CAD and hard copies.
- Works directly with skilled trades, program managers and quality engineers.
- Manage and execute actions from ECN/ECR system.
Qualifications And Requirements

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, Technical degree with experience.
- Very strong hands on candidate with 2 + years of applicable experience.
- Experience in high volume steel processing/manufacturing a plus.
- Previous experience in the automotive field a plus.
- Ability to solve problems through logic and removing road blocks.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products.
- Knowledge of Solid Works CAD system a plus.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents and statures from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure manuals, and specification manuals. Ability to write instructions, plant operating procedures, and routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, regulatory agencies, and employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply basic concepts of physical science.
