About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer supports production processes associated with machining, composite fabricating, finishing, and assembling composite tooling, metallic tooling, or production parts. This includes basic research and development, process optimization, design, and testing duties in an AS9100 Certified facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintains an overview of production processes and facilities, collaborating with Management and Production personnel to develop and implement improvements for optimal results.
- Assists with creating and managing new production processes/procedures to aid in the completion of composite tooling and resolve production issues.
- Reissues and/or reconstructs production processes to implement new technology developed by Research and Design.
- Plans and coordinates standard manufacturing processes on the Production Floor.
- Aids in recording test procedures, results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.
- Works with Project Managers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process.
- Complies with Safety, 5S, AS9100, and Nadcap Standards and Practices.
- Develops detailed Production Build Plan packages based on customer process specifications and engineering drawings.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts.
- Files, retrieves, and maintains engineering drawings, records, revisions, and updates as needed.
- Drafts detail drawings or sketches to convey technical information.
- Maintains awareness of project schedules to meet key project deadlines as projects move through the value stream.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, equipment, and workspace requirements for maximum efficiency.
- Works well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
- A bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Composite/Material Science, Industrial Design Technology, or a similar field is required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and SAP; experience with Catia and Unigraphics is desirable.
- A combination of extensive work experience (10+ years) and other education may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Must maintain good attendance and punctuality as a condition of employment.
Pay
Salary range for this role is between $83,000 - $100,000, plus discretionary bonus. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of base compensation; the actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
