Manufacturing Engineer
Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer position involves planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing equipment and processes to produce high-quality pultruded, molded, and assembled products. Key responsibilities include coordinating production efforts on new program launches, setting up and revising manufacturing processes, and assisting with problem-solving and continuous process improvement projects. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and training process setup technicians and factory maintenance personnel.
What Will You Do?
- Develop new processes and implement technical solutions to improve quality and OEE.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and other operations/maintenance personnel.
- Develop and maintain process documentation for clarity and understanding among employees.
- Provide daily technical support solutions to various manufacturing operations.
- Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve machine and material issues.
- Monitor and report issues with tooling and equipment, recommending refurbishment or replacement based on production factors.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Facilitate and support plant safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
- Practical work experience in a molding or pultrusion operation is required.
- Extensive training in similar conversion processes or assembly may be considered.
- A strong and diverse technical background in conversion processing, tooling, equipment, and materials is preferred.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal management direction.
- Demonstrated good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Solid CAD experience and design capability with good business computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to lead others, including indirect supervision of process technicians.
