About the role
Execute and approve investigations to solve manufacturing problems, determine root cause, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Optimize workflows, resources, and processes to prevent waste and production inefficiencies. Support the installation and startup of new production systems while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct production investigations and determine root cause and corrective/preventive actions.
- Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities, propose solutions, and implement actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement and propose Operational Excellence (OPEX) activities for the department.
- Support the implementation of actions to maximize safety, quality, and cost reduction.
- Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Change Control activities.
- Resolve production issues and delays.
- Support development and improvement of production processes and personnel.
- Execute validation activities and plan/execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) and engineering studies.
- Investigate and approve reports for production quality deviations and customer claims.
- Qualify and train production personnel.
- Stay updated with international engineering trends through trade shows, research, and supplier evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and high-throughput automated assembly (e.g., Injection Molding).
- Blueprint interpretation, and familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and programming systems (preferable).
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and listening skills.
- Experience in project management and troubleshooting production processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
