Job Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and develop new equipment for future production systems
- Perform root cause analysis for failure investigations and other data analysis tasks, make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement
- Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot and improve equipment and processes using Lean/Six Sigma tools and (Manufacturing Readiness Level) standards
- Employ Engineering tools such as BOM refinement, Design Reviews, PFMEA, DFMEA, IQ/OQ, Value Stream Maps, GD&T, etc.
- Provide technical support for 7x24 manufacturing facility in assigned areas of responsibility
- Research, organize and author Engineering documents such as change orders, manufacturing procedures and manuals, initial production travelers
- Support non-conformance program, identify and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Write periodic reports or oral presentations to management and customers on specific projects
- Ensure that health and safety policies are followed
- Apply quality standards to ensure compliance with certification requirements in plant applications
What we need from you
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing, heavy marine, or oil & gas industry
- Hands-on experience with industrial tools and equipment
- Knowledge of process equipment operation principles, methods, and process capability
- Successful in a team environment
- Demonstrated skills in technical problem solving and project coordination
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail
- MS Office experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable working hands-on in a production environment when needed
Preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Experience with various forms of industrial process equipment such as pressure vessels, pumps, fluid systems, ovens, cranes, lifts, robotics, etc.
- Experience in aerospace/high-temperature composites, textiles or industrial engineering systems
- Experience in thermal processing
- Experience with GD&T, and engineering drawing approval standards
