About the role
The Manufacturing/Process Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing process design and improvement. They will support the engineering function by analyzing designs for manufacturing and assembly, performing cost estimating, preparing bill of materials, and planning and justifying capital equipment.
Responsibilities
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Plans manufacturing and assembly processes by analyzing designs to determine the best manufacturing methods.
- Documents manufacturing processes.
- Creates and manages manufacturing work instructions.
- Creates and modifies product CAD documentation (parts, assemblies, drawings) as needed.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Determines, specifies, and justifies capital equipment needs.
- Confers with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Designs and performs product testing and analysis as needed.
- Performs quality assurance functions as needed to ensure high levels of quality in manufacturing.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience, or 10+ years of related experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Leverage Lean Experience including the practical implementation and application w/ Black Belt Certification preferred.
- CAD platforms (SolidWorks) proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data to drive improvements in throughput, cost and quality of various manufacturing process using proven methodologies.
- Experience with rotational molding preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- ERP experience (Oracle, Epicor preferred).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
Skills
- Lean Experience including the practical implementation and application w/ Black Belt Certification.
- CAD platforms (SolidWorks) proficiency.
- Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
- ERP experience (Oracle, Epicor preferred).
