Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
EBAD is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience working in a manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading development of new products into production. Candidate will have key areas of expertise in analyzing user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.
Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling) as well as product testing requirements and methods.
- Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production.
- Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Cordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.
- Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
- Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements.
- Development of automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
- Development of layouts of manufacturing cell design including tooling, machinery and equipment.
- Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning.
- Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs.
Requirements
- A BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience in the following areas: Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems, CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T, Design of tooling and fixtures, Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques, Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects, Formal problem analysis and resolution, Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs, Working with aerospace products and processes, Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices, Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems, MS Office – Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
