Manufacturing Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing cells of new and existing products.
• Manage process documents, tooling and fixturing for programs.
• Drive continuous improvement utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools.
• Perform ergonomic assessments.
• Provide typical Manufacturing Engineering rigor required for Aerospace Industry product realization.
• Generate and revise Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Work Instructions.
• Maintain tooling, gauging, and test equipment for mature production.
• Support proposal development- ME hours, recurring hardware hours and risk assessment.
• Resolve manufacturing issues in a timely manner.
• Design, integrate, and validate Work Cells.
• Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and variation in processes focused on improving KPIs.
• Support 5S and visual management efforts in manufacturing areas.
• Ensure product conformance and configuration control requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years experience in: Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar internships/co-ops.
• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered.
• Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in helping develop new products and supporting proposal work, Experience in Lean manufacturing and Visual Control implementations, Experience in designing tooling used in the support of Assembly and Test products, Experience in soldering, wiring, electrical assembly, Experience in root cause problem solving (RCPS), Experience in 2D/3D CAD software.
