About the Role

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving passenger vehicle and commercial truck markets, Dana provides original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist maintenance to ensure equipment is properly maintained, guarded, and operating in a safe manner.
  • Manage the successful transition of new products and technology into production areas.
  • Monitor existing manufacturing processes to continuously improve process efficiency, throughput, quality, setup, and cost through engagement and action.
  • Manage capital plans and expense projects as required.
  • Design, develop, test, and/or source and implement various tools, cutters, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Perform research, design, and analyses to develop and improve capacity, layouts, production flow, workforce utilization, and material handling methods.
  • Develop and implement documentation of manufacturing work instructions, process flow diagrams, and PFMEA alongside Quality Engineering and Production counterparts.
  • Review new product specifications, BOMs, and Flex Fields for correctness and completeness.
  • Lead and maintain tool PM initiative from analysis to disposition, including recommendations to repair or replace, requesting purchase requisitions, logging to expense reports for approval, and tracking.
  • Ensure EHS compliance as it relates to job responsibilities.
  • Interface with customers and implement corrective actions to resolve quality concerns and process-related issues.
  • Participate in and support Dana DOS, lean manufacturing, and Red-X initiatives.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment, further developing preventative and predictive maintenance systems, and providing direction for project and improvement work.
  • Support other projects and developments, including evening and/or weekend support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a technical field discipline.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with machining and production equipment.

Skills

  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Self-starter with motivation to complete projects per specified timelines; ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Kaizen and Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with AviX, Visio, and MS Project is helpful.
  • Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • PLC experience is a plus (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, Okuma (OSP), and Mori-Seiki (MAPS)).
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferred.
