About the role
Carestream Health is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in supporting and optimizing the production of cutting-edge X-ray equipment. This role is pivotal in troubleshooting and resolving production issues to reduce downtime, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing operational efficiency across our assembly and test lines.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to reduce downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement and enhance operational efficiency across assembly and test lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on engineering experience.
- Medical device manufacturing and electrical or electronics hardware experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of typical quality expectations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Comfortable with computers and able to quickly learn new programs & tools as needed.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, primarily Excel and Word.
Skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (desired).
- Experience with SAP or ERP systems (desired).
- Familiarity with CAD tools, preferably NX, Creo, or SolidWorks (desired).
- Able to read mechanical drawings and understand GD&T symbols and tolerances (desired).
- Comfortable navigating quality management systems within a medical device manufacturing facility (desired).
- Experience with change management tools (desired).
- Knowledge of cost reduction and productivity improvement techniques (desired).
- Experience with cost reduction, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies (desired).
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and office environments; regular time spent on the production floor supporting operations.
- Collaborative team setting focused on continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Pay
$78,300 to $95,000
