Job Duties

  • Own the daily performance of assigned manufacturing lines, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, First Pass Yield (FPY), OEE, downtime, and scrap.
  • Identify, analyze, and implement improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and equipment reliability.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities using data-driven methodologies (PDCA, 5 Why, Fishbone, RedX, Six Sigma, etc.) to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, prioritize work, and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on business impact.
  • Demonstrate ownership by driving issues from identification through implementation and verification of effectiveness.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives within assigned production areas.
  • Develop and maintain APQP documentation including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and related quality documentation.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), Setup Instructions, and process specifications.
  • Lead and/or support the specification, design, validation, implementation, and launch of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Lead and/or participate in Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and process improvement activities.
  • Support troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment by partnering with Production, Maintenance, Controls, Quality, and Technical Functions.
  • Develop engineering standards, best practices, and procedures that improve process capability, consistency, and equipment reliability.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and Bosch standards.
  • Conduct regular Layered Process Audits (LPA), Workstation Audits, 5S Audits, Operator Audits, and Process Audits.
  • Communicate project status, technical issues, action plans, risks, and support needs to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor to support operators, verify process performance, and ensure improvements are effective.

  • Balance multiple priorities while consistently meeting commitments and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, machining, assembly, or heat treating processes preferred.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex manufacturing problems using data.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, RedX, PDCA, or other structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage multiple initiatives, and drive projects to completion.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
