Position Summary

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing (Operations) Engineering team, supporting New Product Development and production operations. You will be a strong contributing member in our collaborative environment while also finding a good amount of autonomy to drive improvements. In this role you will be responsible for optimizing the output of ongoing manufacturing operations as well as supporting new product launches and transfers. This position reports to Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • New Product Introduction:
    • Provide project level comprehensive Manufacturing Engineering support as an integrated member of a design team.
    • Critically analyze new product concepts and provide constructive feedback for assembly requirements and constraints.
    • Lead effort to incorporate preferred assembly methods and critical part features that are necessary to achieve yield and cost targets.
    • Lead Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions and proactively reduce and eliminate the causes of defects on new product introductions.
    • Create a manufacturing process plan to facilitate LEAN, and single piece flow errorproof manufacturing.
    • Design Manufacturing line with necessary automation to achieve cost of goods sold requirement.
    • Use workflow toolsets and PTC Creo to specify and provide assembly fixtures and automation.
    • Create labor estimates, time standards, assembly drawings, routings, and procedural documentation.
    • Manage preproduction engineering builds and the manufacturing release process.
    • Coordinate maintenance and repair operations for manufacturing equipment.
    • Participate in production line duplication and product transfers to US and international manufacturing facilities.
  • Process Development and Support:
    • Lead product post-launch team to address production manufacturability, cost, and yield issues.
    • Research and Identify new production technologies to support cost and quality initiatives in the plants.
    • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and Gage R&R for system control and optimization.
    • Create and maintain assembly documentation and procedures.
    • Provide line support daily (or as needed) to assigned lines for yield improvement, trouble shooting, and other activities to meet organizational objectives.

  • Required Education: BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, or similar
  • Required Skills or Experience: 1 - 3 years of relevant experience; Experience with fixture, equipment and automation specification, as well as deployment; Demonstrated track record of applying engineering problem solving skills; Ability to identify and advocate for necessary piece part features needed to meet production cost and yield goals; Good applied statistics skills; Experience with DOE, FMEA, and Gage R&R; Experience with one or more process technologies such as ultrasonic welding, potting, injection molding, adhesive dispense, automation, etc.; Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (i.e., creating graphs and charts, using formulas, creating V-look ups, and filtering information); Ability to communicate effectively to multiple stakeholder groups (management, operations employees) with presentations, data, training and other communications to meet objectives; Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities.
  • Preferred Skills or Experience: Fixture conceptualization and design; Windchill MPM link experience; PTC ProE / Creo / PDMLink experience; LEAN experience or certification; Experience with sensor or safety products; Project management skills and experience.

  • Pay Range: $82,245.00 - $116,033.00

  • Corporate office and factory environments – indoor and climate-controlled
  • Frequent interaction with internal departments, cross-functional teams, or external partners, as well as employees across all levels of the organization—including entry-level staff, senior leadership, clients, or vendors.
  • Exposure to moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, and temperature changes in production areas.
  • PPE may be required in specific areas (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection)
  • Standard hours Monday through Friday; occasional overtime or travel may be required
  • Exposure to various manufacturing, warehousing, or related industrial locations.
