About the Role

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Using manufacturing engineering practices, write routings and manufacturing instructions.
  • Coordinate the successful transition of new products and technology into production.
  • Write appropriation requests and prepare quotes.
  • Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
  • Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.
  • Design and procure tools and equipment.
  • Develop and document manufacturing work instructions and standard work.
  • Support prototyping activities for new product development.
  • Evaluate and solve production problems.
  • Coordinate maintenance operations, including all shop floor activities, following established procedures and approved processes.
  • Identify, plan, and lead Kaizen initiatives for sustainable process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required LEAN manufacturing experience.
  • Experience or knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ, etc.
  • CAD experience or knowledge; Solidworks preferred.
  • Good project management skills and initiative in completing projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives, and other chemicals (all safety precautions will be used).
  • Plant-wide climate control and air conditioning.
  • May work in areas with excessive noise (ear protection available).

Physical Requirements

  • Intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Repetitive work.
  • Periodic lifting of materials not exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, stopping, crawling, and crouching.
