Responsibilities
- Identifying deficiencies in production processes and develop improvements
- Designing manufacturing tooling and fixturing
- Developing, initiating and managing all phases of projects
- Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources
- Design, implement, optimize, and ensure consistent quality of welding processes (including manual MIG and robotic systems)
- Develop and maintain welding documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), ensuring all operations comply with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME)
- Design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment and work to create Plasma, laser, and brake press programs
- Implement new manufacturing processes and equipment including the organization of parts and product manuals
- Lead root-cause analysis for weld defects and equipment failures
- Collaborate with outside operations and quality control teams to ensure products meet specifications
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology
- Conduct time and motion studies to optimize processes
- Provide training and support to production and maintenance teams
- Quality control on in and outbound products
Qualifications
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks), project management and statistical analysis software
- Experience with ERP software required; Epicor preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Strong working knowledge of weld metallurgy, processes, and equipment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
