Responsibilities

  • Identifying deficiencies in production processes and develop improvements
  • Designing manufacturing tooling and fixturing
  • Developing, initiating and managing all phases of projects
  • Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources
  • Design, implement, optimize, and ensure consistent quality of welding processes (including manual MIG and robotic systems)
  • Develop and maintain welding documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), ensuring all operations comply with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME)
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment and work to create Plasma, laser, and brake press programs
  • Implement new manufacturing processes and equipment including the organization of parts and product manuals
  • Lead root-cause analysis for weld defects and equipment failures
  • Collaborate with outside operations and quality control teams to ensure products meet specifications
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology
  • Conduct time and motion studies to optimize processes
  • Provide training and support to production and maintenance teams
  • Quality control on in and outbound products

Qualifications

  • Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks), project management and statistical analysis software
  • Experience with ERP software required; Epicor preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of weld metallurgy, processes, and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Applicant Requirements

  • CAD experience required
  • ERP Software
  • 5-10 years heavy manufacturing experience
  • Engineering process control and PLM experience
