Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, production and test equipment.
- Captures changes to assembly process flow, including process control plans.
- Carry out process improvements, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
- Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
- Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing processes.
- Prepares and maintains layouts of buildings, tools and equipment.
- Assures compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Develops and documents quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans).
- Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and implements quick win strategies as part of the GEP Management Operating System (MOS).
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive assembly preferred (powertrain assembly).
- Working knowledge of MS office applications (MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Skill in Smart factory experience preferred.
- AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
- PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
