Responsibilities
- Design tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment using SolidWorks to support automotive production lines.
- Develop, improve, and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, wiring, and mechanical issues on production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Support equipment installations, production launches, and continuous improvement projects across the facility.
- Define technical specifications and obtain vendor quotations for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis activities and implement effective corrective actions to reduce recurring equipment failures.
- Partner closely with production and maintenance teams to improve manufacturing performance and reliability.
- Develop, maintain, and update engineering documentation, standards, and equipment specifications.
- Support automated manufacturing equipment and production processes, including machine programs and PLC troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure tooling, equipment, and process solutions meet performance and quality requirements.
- Apply hands-on engineering skills on the shop floor to process-improve equipment and resolve issues quickly.
- Contribute to capital equipment and continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience designing tooling, fixtures, and production equipment using SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and support.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and support.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, controls, and wiring.
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and pneumatic prints.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills applied in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Experience working directly with suppliers, maintenance teams, and production teams.
- Demonstrated ability to process-improve equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on manufacturing engineering background with both mechanical and electrical exposure.
