About the role

Design, develop, analyze, and implement manufacturing processes in collaboration with Tier 1 suppliers. Lead Tier 1 supplier teams to identify root causes and resolve manufacturing and quality issues. Drive day-to-day manufacturing operations and New Product Introduction. Support various operational groups in cost-reduction projects for Mass Production and New Product Introduction. Drive continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Industry 4.0 as frameworks.

This role is a hybrid position and requires a minimum of three days per week in one of the following Zebra office locations: Lincolnshire, IL; Holtsville, NY; or Austin, TX. Zebra reserves the right to modify your work location based on business need.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, implement, and validate Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0 maturity levels with Tier 1 suppliers or Distribution Centers.
  • Drive process improvements using LSS and Industry 4.0 tools, such as Line Balancing, Continuous Flow Line Layout, Point of Use, 5S, TPM, OMS, Cross Training, CTQ, PFMEA, Automation, and Digitization solutions.
  • Conduct LSS & Industry 4.0 audits to measure maturity levels and identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Work with internal and external teams to analyze and improve processes, focusing on root causes to eliminate recurrence.
  • Manage Engineering Change, Deviations, and MFGO processes by evaluating impact, risk, and material disposition.
  • Review and approve work instructions and validate that approved manufacturing processes and parameters are correctly implemented.
  • Ensure the production BOM is accurate and aligned with Agile references.
  • Drive cost-reduction project implementation with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage assets, fixtures, tools, development, fabrication, validation, and management.
  • Review and update Labor and MVA Models.
  • Make and implement recommendations to improve process capabilities for Mass Production and New Product Introduction.
  • Develop positive relationships with other engineering disciplines and functions to solve problems and implement innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams from the concept phase to drive DFX principles.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) with 4+ years of experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Lean Six Sigma.

Skills

  • Knowledge/experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and working in Medical Devices, Personal Care, Consumer Electronics, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Process/Industrial Engineering and Lean & Six Sigma (e.g., Design of Experiments & Root-Cause Analysis).
  • New Product launch and Project Management experience.
  • Process FMEA, Control Plan, and Error-proofing implementation experience.
  • Experience creating cost models and performing feasibility analysis.
  • Working knowledge of project payback analysis and financial justification (ROI).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Analytical, Safety, Regulatory, Technology Assurance (or equivalent), and Quality Assurance in a technical role.
  • Proficient in MS Office software.
  • Green Belt certification is a plus.

Pay

Pay Range: $108,960.00 - $163,440.00 per year.

In addition to base pay, this role offers the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 12% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
