About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an entry level Manufacturing / Floor Support Engineer to provide technical support to manufacturing and related functions specific to painting operations of the Chemical Agent Resistive Coating (CARC) Paint and Media Blast Facilities at our York, PA facility. This position works on 3rd shift, 10PM to 7AM.

Responsibilities

  • Help research, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and systems for products, facilities, fixtures, tooling, equipment, and/or materials.
  • Assist in developing and testing work methods and procedures, ensuring performance and quality of materials, products, and machines meet specifications and standards.
  • Ensure technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.
  • Support daily operations required to accomplish a wide variety of tasks related to the preparation and painting of combat equipment to military standards.
  • Help create, plan, and perform engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test, and/or product assurance tasks of moderate complexity for assigned portions of a project.
  • Work mindfully to ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Apply engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques and practices to a portion of a technical project.
  • Use basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems.
  • Select the best method or process from among several existing alternatives.
  • Support with technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.

Required qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline OR the overall equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Must be familiar with the use and maintenance of full face, continuous flow, respirator, and ventilation systems.
  • Experience in root cause/corrective action, preventive action.
  • Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with military vehicles.
  • Experience with commercial blast room equipment and bead blasting of military or commercial vehicles.
  • AMPP certification experience in processes of spray-painting military or commercial vehicles and equipment.
  • Gage and equipment calibration and control ISO 9001-2008 experience.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $59023 - $100339. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
