Position Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems within manufactured units. This role ensures electrical systems are properly connected, functional, and compliant with applicable specifications and electrical codes. The Electrician will work from blueprints and diagrams to support safe, reliable, and high-quality equipment builds.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan new or modified electrical installations to minimize material waste, allow for future maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable wiring in compliance with specifications and local electrical codes
- Interpret and follow electrical schematics, drawings, and blueprints to ensure proper wiring installation, including concealed wiring
- Pull wiring through units and connect electrical boxes to subcomponents
- Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering connections, and applying appropriate insulation or terminal caps
- Connect wiring and power cables to electrical equipment, including control panels, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and diesel motors
- Install grounding leads and ensure proper system grounding
- Test circuit continuity and electrical compatibility using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, batteries, and buzzers
- Monitor the operation of electrical systems to identify defects, safety concerns, or the need for repair or adjustment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components or systems as required
- May perform basic cutting or welding of steel components using approved equipment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring methods
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a production environment
- Completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship preferred
- Valid electrician's license preferred
Physical Requirements
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen
- Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner
- There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required
- Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds

Full-Time
Work Schedule
Regular hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime, evenings, or weekends may be required based on production demands.
Salary
$28 - $36 per hour
