Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
- Disassemble gages and instruments and inspect components for defects.
- Measure parts for conformity with specifications.
- Reassemble and calibrate gages and instruments.
- Provide both efficient and accurate performance of routine mechanical gage calibrations including maintenance of calibration records.
- Aid engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
- Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and strive to find solutions.
- Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance productivity.
- Participate in 5S Workplace activities, maintaining the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
Education/Experience & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent and minimum inspection experience should be equivalent to a Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector, Level 1 or greater.
- Ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and tolerances.
- Basic working knowledge of GD&T is required.
- Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Ability to use calibration software such as Gage Trak.
- Must be able to create a schedule, gage files, and populate gage.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
