About the role
As a Pallet Repair Reman, you’ll build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets, and/or lumber. You may also repair pallets by taking damaged pallets sent from customers and returning them to service-ready condition before consolidating and shipping them back. Responsibilities
- Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition.
- Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager.
- Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment that meets 48forty’s standards.
- Build and repair the given number of pallets once training is complete.
- Work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area safely.
- Stack pallets or materials correctly, following inventory control instructions.
- Check loads to ensure they are secure.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED required; completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred.
- Quick hands, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Observance of all safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools.
- Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions, including elements, heat, cold, and air particulate.
- Repetitively lift up to 75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths.
- Good sense of balance and good eye-hand-foot coordination.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
Pay
Hourly pay: $14.00/hr. - $25.00/hr. (production-based position).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
