Manufacturing Associate

Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate packaging equipment for in-line and off-line packaging operations.
- Set up and operate finishing equipment such as shrink wrap, label printers, drills, ink jets, pounders, staplers, carton sealers, banders, strappers, ink pumps, ultrasonic sealers, and other fixtures.
- Assist in continuous run operations of equipment, ensuring quality and productivity.
- Perform material and machine changeovers as needed.
- Use measuring devices like digital calipers, precision scales, micrometers, etc., to ensure accuracy.
- Retrieve and return press/rewind tooling and supplies as required.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance on packaging equipment, contacting maintenance when necessary.
- Participate in general facility, equipment, and area-specific cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Interpret production paperwork and prepare finished products for shipment.
- Perform inventory checks and order/receive materials according to specific procedures.
- Conduct quality checks throughout production stages and processes.
- Communicate with Machine Operators, Press Operators, Team Leads, and Supervisors on production issues, needs, and recommendations to enhance production effectiveness and efficiency.
- May rotate between various product areas and tasks.
- Assist in moving materials and finished products using hand/fork trucks.
- Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policies, including OSHA and ISO requirements.
- Train new employees on all aspects of the Manufacturing Associate position.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic reading, math, and direction-following skills.
- Ability to operate all required production equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to assemble and work with small parts.
- Strong learning and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and react quickly to operating issues.
Skills
- Proficiency in using various measuring devices.
- Experience with packaging and finishing equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
