Manufacturing Associate

About the role

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate packaging equipment for in-line and off-line packaging operations.
• Set up and operate finishing equipment such as shrink wrap, label printers, drills, ink jets, pounders, staplers, carton sealers, banders, strappers, ink pumps, ultrasonic sealers, and other fixtures.
• Assist in continuous run operations of equipment, ensuring quality and productivity.
• Perform material and machine changeovers as needed.
• Use measuring devices like digital calipers, precision scales, micrometers, etc., to ensure accuracy.
• Retrieve and return press/rewind tooling and supplies as required.
• Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance on packaging equipment, contacting maintenance when necessary.
• Participate in general facility, equipment, and area-specific cleaning and housekeeping duties.
• Interpret production paperwork and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Perform inventory checks and order/receive materials according to specific procedures.
• Conduct quality checks throughout production stages and processes.
• Communicate with Machine Operators, Press Operators, Team Leads, and Supervisors on production issues, needs, and recommendations to enhance production effectiveness and efficiency.
• May rotate between various product areas and tasks.
• Assist in moving materials and finished products using hand/fork trucks.
• Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policies, including OSHA and ISO requirements.
• Train new employees on all aspects of the Manufacturing Associate position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic reading, math, and direction-following skills.
• Ability to operate all required production equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to assemble and work with small parts.
• Strong learning and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot and react quickly to operating issues.

Skills

• Proficiency in using various measuring devices.
• Experience with packaging and finishing equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The expected salary range for this position is $16.00-$17.25 per hour, with actual compensation determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
