Summary The Finisher/Packager performs work in a manufacturing facility. Packages finished goods following proper standards and procedures. Additional tasks to include safely set up, operate and adjust metal forming equipment by use of appropriate tools and procedures. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Packages finished goods following proper packaging standards and proceduresExhibits ability to accurately read a tape measureUnitizes, check counts and verifies lengthDemonstrates ability and willingness to learning to operate machineryEnsures production areas are completly stocked with required material.Performs in a fast-paced production environmentDisplays ability to understand manufacturing proceduresLifts heavy objects by hand and cleans work area, machines and equipment, using broom, Machine Operation Sets up, operates and adjusts metal forming equipment by use of appropriate tools and proceduresKeeps mill operating according to operating procedures and in good conditionOperates cutback saw in a safe manner and to order specifications Keeps mill and surrounding area clean and clear of obstruction Performs all change overs, using appropriate tooling Changes punches and shear diesPerforms to Machine goalsWilling and able to assist in training co-workersMust be able to work in team environment Performs other duties as assigned Safety Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.Wears and maintains all required PPE. Performs Lockout Procedure as required by mill specific Lockout JSAUnderstands all safety devices and their operation.Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation. Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications. Quality Performs quality checks to include:Undersands and uses a tape measure to check length, width and hole spacingUndersands and appropriately uses a micrometer to measure thickness of the product - periodicallyUnderstands and performs routine checks for straightness, bow, and camberUnderstands and performs routine checks for part dimension using appropriate toolsAppropriately maintains all paperwork on quality in a legible manner Maintenance Performs routine maintenance and notifies maintenance personnel concerning any machine issues that might slow down production, cause a safety concern or lead to further maintenance problems Assists maintenance personnel as directed Housekeeping Maintains a clean organized work station Other Assists material handler with changing coils and follows reject policy on rejected steelDirects, assists and trains helpers to perform necessary functions Performs all necessary paperwork Supervisory Responsibilities None Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Mechanically inclinedProblem Solver Team Oriented Education And/Or Experience Prior manufacturing experience preferred The Military Equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience Physical Requirements Lifting up to 50 lbsStanding 8 or more hours per dayWalking - Off and on, 4-6 hours per dayBody Positions - Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both armsGrasping - Both hands, up to 8-hours per daySitting - NonePushing Effort - Carts of finished product and tools, up to 50lbsPulling - Tools and finished product, up to 50lbsClimbing - ladders/stairs, occasionally Mathematical Skills Basic Mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimalsMust be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer accurately Work Environment Manufacturing facility - exposed to heat and coldPersonal Protective Equipment always requiredControlled Noise environment Activity level high - continuous overhead crane and forklift movement Clarkdietrich Benefits Include Tiered wage system, where promotion is based on abilityFull benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts and Life Insurance)Monthly Bonus401(k) with Company MatchVacationTuition ReimbursementCommunity Service Day
