About the role
This is a hands-on optical assembly role focused on building subassemblies used within KLA systems. The position involves assembling components such as lenses and light sources in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with their hands, using basic hand tools, and bringing a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assemble optical and mechanical subassemblies following established procedures and work instructions.
- Build components such as lenses, light sources, and other optical assemblies used in KLA systems.
- Utilize basic hand tools and precision equipment to complete assembly tasks.
- Follow drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform basic inspections and verification of assembled components.
- Support rework and adjustments to assemblies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including adherence to cleanroom requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and support manufacturing objectives and production schedules.
Requirements
- Associate degree preferred. Candidates with relevant technical training, military experience, or comparable hands-on experience will also be considered.
- Prior assembly experience is preferred, particularly in optical, electro-mechanical, electronics, robotics, manufacturing, or other technical assembly environments.
- Candidates with approximately 2+ years of related experience are preferred, though strong entry-level candidates with relevant technical backgrounds may also be considered.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with basic hand tools.
- Basic computer skills, including email.
- Ability to follow written instructions, drawings, and assembly procedures with attention to detail.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite in a cleanroom environment. Previous cleanroom experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable working in that setting.
Schedule
Shift 2 hours are 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and optional weekend support opportunities. The role includes a 30-minute break and a 1-hour lunch.
