Key Responsibilities
- Support the manufacturing and quality assessment of consumable products from raw materials as directed by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Assemble and prepare kits according to production schedules, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Accurately document production activities and maintain traceable records.
- Review and suggest improvements to the weekly production plan as set out by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Review and suggest improvements to work instructions and manufacturing batch records.
- Ensure the laboratory area is organised efficiently and all production documentation is filed appropriately in accordance with laboratory work instructions.
- Communicate any likely delays or issues to the appropriate Team Lead in a timely manner.
- Perform quality checks of raw materials, reagents, and finished products in accordance with work instructions, and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
- Prepare and share quality metrics reports for consumable products, as determined by the Quality Lead.
- Support equipment upkeep, calibration, and maintenance by following standard operating procedures.
- Perform material and labour transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including opening and closing work orders, building assemblies, and transferring materials in NetSuite.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organisation, and housekeeping standards in accordance with safety and quality requirements.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including packaging, labelling, and preparing shipment documentation.
- Perform inventory counts of raw materials and finished goods.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- A higher qualification (BSc or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Biochemistry).
- Experience working in a laboratory setting using best laboratory practices and techniques related to cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or chemistry.
- Hands-on experience preparing and processing chemical formulations according to documented procedures.
- Experience operating and maintaining laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Experience testing products for key characteristics such as stability, viscosity, photosensitivity, and lability.
