Manual Machinist IV
About the role
A Machinist IV produces precision parts using machine tools and equipment. This involves measuring workpieces, installing machine parts, and performing quality inspections.
Responsibilities
- Estimate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements
- Program complex parts to be machined
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools in order to perform precision machining operations
- Measure and outline the parts to be machined using various devices and tools in order to obtain accurate dimensions
- Design complex manufacturing fixtures
- Mentor and train junior machinists
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in area of responsibility
