Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various conventional machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills to manufacture precision parts and components.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to resolve technical challenges, contributing technical insights that influence design and functionality improvements.
- Interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, and other specifications to accurately fabricate or repair mechanical instruments and parts.
- Fabricate or modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
- Utilize specialized machine tool attachments and precision measuring instruments to meet exacting tolerances and specifications.
- Participate in the planning and execution of manufacturing, kitting, or repair projects by assessing required resources such as facilities, equipment, and manpower.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes and adhere to safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years' experience in machining operations, particularly in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain a wide range of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills to manufacture precision parts and components.
- Familiarity with the defense industry’s standards and requirements is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work flexibly across different projects and to adapt to changing project requirements.
- GibbsCAM proficiency and advanced CAD/CAM software training preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
