About the role
ABI Resources provides home support services for individuals with brain injuries, including brain injury home support services, recovery assistants, personal care providers, community integrated specialists, outreach workers, and support health aides.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene tasks
- Assist with medication management and drug screening
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Help with household chores and errands
- Support with meal preparation and nutrition
- Participate in Connecticut Brain Injury Support Groups
- Collaborate with clients to develop and maintain independent living skills
- Support clients in accessing community resources and services
- Ensure client safety and comfort
- Document client progress and communicate with supervisors and families
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience preferred, but not required
- Driver’s license required
- Reliable transportation and proof of insurance
- At least 18 years of age
Qualifications
- Experience working with disabilities is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Pass a background check and drug screen
