As a Managing Technical Consultant, Permitting & Regulatory Specialist (Energy/Power/Renewable Projects), you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding critical energy infrastructure projects across the western U.S., ensuring they meet environmental and regulatory standards while advancing sustainability goals. Join our California team to support the domestic Impact Assessment service area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical analyses and impact assessment reports for energy projects.
- Support large-scale compliance programs, including data management and stakeholder communication.
- Organize and execute field surveys, data reviews, and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with ERM teams nationwide on environmental impact assessments, land planning, facility siting, and risk management.
- Maintain quality, budget, and schedule expectations while ensuring compliance with ERM standards.
- Engage directly with clients and subject matter experts on environmental science and permitting strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science/engineering, biology/ecology, planning, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in impact assessment and environmental permitting, ideally in a consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act Sections 401/404, Endangered Species Act, and equivalent state/local regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Pay
The anticipated annual base pay for this role is $93,050 – $124,245 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
