Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Managing Scientist for our Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Bowie, MD. In this role, you will work as part of a team on solving scientific and engineering problems facing our clients. You will be responsible for managing projects from initiation to completion; communicating project updates to other team members, clients, and administrative staff; ensuring that Exponent meets its deadlines and produces exceptional work product; and identifying business development opportunities.

Working with Government Security Related Products and Projects

  • Presenting testing results, analyses, and recommendations to clients
  • Supporting on-site meetings, testing, or other activities conducted at client sites

Attracting and Developing New Projects and Clients

  • BUILDING AND LEADING DIVERSE TEAMS
  • MENTORING AND DEVELOPING TECHNICAL STAFF

Skills and Qualifications

  • M.S. in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with relevant work experience
  • 6+ years of post-graduation experience working in data analytics or data science

Additional Information

  • Ability to interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible manner
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization programs such as Tableau or others considered a plus
  • Prior government contracting experience considered a plus
  • Experience with machine learning considered a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior problem-solving abilities
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary. The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process. Salary Range USD $172,500.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
