About the role
We are currently seeking a Managing Scientist for our Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Bowie, MD. In this role, you will work as part of a team on solving scientific and engineering problems facing our clients.
- Manage projects from initiation to completion
- Communicate project updates to other team members, clients, and administrative staff
- Ensure that Exponent meets its deadlines and produces exceptional work product
- Identify business development opportunities
- Work with government security-related products and projects
- Present testing results, analyses, and recommendations to clients
- Supervise on-site meetings, testing, or other activities conducted at client sites
- Attract and develop new projects and clients
- Build and lead diverse teams
- Mentor and develop technical staff
- Provide project management and project budget oversight
Requirements
- Ph.D. in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with relevant work experience
- 6+ years of post-graduation experience working in data analytics or data science
- Our contracts with the United States Government for this position require proof of U.S. citizenship and the possession of or ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Ability to interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible manner
- Ability to code data into appropriate graphical formats considered a plus
- Knowledge of data analysis and visualization programs such as Tableau or others considered a plus
- Prior government contracting experience considered a plus
- Experience with machine learning considered a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior problem-solving abilities
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills

Pay
The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
Salary Range: USD $172,500.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
Benefits
At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
