Managing Partner
About the role
A Managing Partner (Proprietor) at Carrabba’s Italian Grill is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant, from hiring and training staff to ensuring high-quality food and service. This is a hands-on management position requiring expertise in both front and back of the house operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage all employees to maintain high employment quality standards
- Hire, develop, counsel, promote, discipline, and terminate employees as appropriate
- Maintain all employee files and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate
- Ensure the restaurant is fully staffed and employees are trained in all aspects of their job responsibilities
- Implement effective security protocols to ensure the safety of both employees and guests
- Respond to complaints and turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
- Develop initiatives to increase sales, profitability, and guest counts
- Verify that all menu items are made according to the recipe and presented correctly
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs
- Manage restaurant P&L, maintain proper inventory levels, and place orders within established guidelines
- Enforce safety and sanitation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for the entire restaurant and premises
- Ensure adherence to operational basics and standards with total commitment and passion
- Oversee all restaurant administrative requirements including cash handling, guest liability reports, property, casualty, workers compensation reports, and governmental compliance
- Lead the restaurant and its employees in active community involvement
- Strive for high ethical judgement and adhere to the Company's Code of Ethics policy
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role, with General Manager experience preferred
- Casual Dining or Casual Plus environment experience preferred
- Demonstrate ability to deliver outstanding guest service and handle guest complaints professionally
- Knowledge of maintaining high standards of food quality and service
- Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate a team, fostering a positive work environment and high employee retention
- Hands-on experience in all facets of front of house and back of house operations
- Availability to work a flexible schedule (nights & weekends)
- Minimum 21 years of age with legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to hold a state liquor license
- Ability to relocate, a strong plus
- Previous exposure to a scratch kitchen, a BIG advantage
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Computer proficiency (particularly MS Office Suite and Outlook) preferred
- Bilingual, a plus
