Managing Finance Director

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Finance Director to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will partner closely with senior academic and administrative leaders to shape financial strategy, strengthen decision-making, and support the organization’s long-term fiscal health. The position will translate complex financial information into clear guidance, helping leadership evaluate risks, opportunities, and resource needs across a complex environment. It will also oversee budgeting, financial operations, and partnership-related financial analysis while ensuring sound internal controls and policy compliance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $142,545 – $239,389 annually Responsibilities Provide strategic financial advice to deans and senior leadership. Identify and communicate financial risks and trends. Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations. Model financial scenarios for academic and operational initiatives. Oversee budgeting and financial operations across programs. Manage contract reviews and financial modeling for partnerships. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 8 years of experience. Strong understanding of internal control concepts in complex environments. Project management experience in financial planning and risk assessment. Proven ability to synthesize complex financial data for leadership. Advanced skills in accounting and financial software, preferably Tableau, Banner, and Oracle Financials.
