About the role
Spectrum News is a network of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks. We produce original, unbiased, and high-quality content using innovative journalistic approaches and comprehensive research. Our newsrooms publish via the Spectrum News app and connected television, providing 24-hour news coverage.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multimedia journalists and photojournalists to review, critique, and edit stories before they air on TV.
- Listen to story pitches, approve the most promising ones, and support journalists as they shoot, write, and edit.
- Create compelling newscasts that keep our audience informed and connect viewers with the stories that matter.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in news or editing, 5+ years in management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Management, or related field, or comparable television management work experience.
- Technical Skills: Programming knowledge and understanding of the evolving digital media landscape.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to cultivate relationships and motivate co-workers.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to five pounds.
- Open to travel to discover important stories in your neighborhood and interact with the community.
- Able to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.

We offer a comprehensive pay and benefits package that rewards employees for their contributions to our success, supporting all aspects of their well-being at every stage of life. The base pay for this position generally is between $98,900.00 and $175,300.00. Additional forms of incentive-based compensation may be available.
Pay
The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
Schedule
Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.
