About the role
The Role
Unispace is looking for an experienced Managing Director to provide strategic leadership and operational direction for our New York studio. You will lead business growth, build a high-performing multidisciplinary team and strengthen Unispace’s presence in the New York market while ensuring exceptional client service and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic plan for the New York studio.
- Lead recruitment, talent development and performance management across multidisciplinary teams.
- Drive client acquisition, revenue growth and achievement of agreed sales targets.
- Build strategic relationships with clients, project managers and industry partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead senior-level pitches and presentations.
- Represent Unispace as a visible ambassador within the New York market.
- Maintain oversight of project profitability, sales, gross profit, labour costs and pipeline forecasts.
- Collaborate with regional and global leaders to align studio operations with wider business objectives.
- Ensure the effective use of systems including Salesforce, Procore and Revit.
- Oversee commercial, legal, reputational and financial risk management.
- Promote collaboration across disciplines, studios and corporate functions.
- Foster an inclusive, accountable and high-performing studio culture.
About You
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
- Extensive knowledge of the New York commercial real estate, design or construction market.
- A strong track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets.
- Exceptional client relationship management and networking capabilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Experience with contract negotiation, procurement and client pitches.
- Experience managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent strategic planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, functions and international markets.
- A background in commercial real estate, workplace design or project management would be advantageous.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $215,000–$250,000 USD. Exact compensation will vary depending on relevant skills, experience and location.
