About the Role

KPMG is seeking a Managing Director to join our Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice. This role involves leading engagements, business development, and contributing to the growth of our team and services.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in developing our Accounting Method and Credit services practice.
  • Direct engagements involving multi-disciplinary teams to provide consulting services related to Research and Development (R&D) tax credits.
  • Build, manage, direct, and monitor multiple client engagement teams while maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
  • Lead, participate in, and contribute to market and business development activities, including identifying and pursuing new potential client service opportunities by collaborating with KPMG’s Audit and Advisory practices.
  • Contribute to the growth, experience, and institutional knowledge of the Accounting Methods and Credit practice staff-level team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience with research and development tax credits within an audit, tax, and/or advisory professional services firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and a licensed CPA, J.D./LL.M., or Enrolled Agent, or completion of an advanced degree or professional certification/designation, including: MBA, MCM, PhD in Economics, Doctor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, MS in Real Estate, AIA, LEED Certification, PE, or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Technical skills and experience with tax accounting related to Internal Revenue Code Sections (including Sections 174 and 41), corresponding regulations, and relevant judicial and administrative authority.
  • Demonstrated track record of business development with the ability to develop and maintain existing internal and external client relationships and build new relationships with key targets.
  • Experience leading multiple engagements and client service teams, as well as developing and mentoring staff within a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information.
