Responsibilities

  • Help develop and implement innovative H&S programs and strategies in the areas of Injury Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), hazard communication/chemical management, occupational health programs, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, industrial hygiene assessments, and technical support.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support our clients desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
  • Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams and effectively complete assignments.
  • Learn and grow as a safety professional through frequent internal and external training as well as exposure to interesting projects and advanced customer experiences.
  • Spend time onsite with clients throughout Silicon Valley and the Bay Area to help solve their most pressing H&S challenges.
  • Aid the world’s most innovative companies develop solutions to complex technical and regulatory issues and concerns.
  • Develop an understanding of how your work affects our clients’ business objectives and help them achieve these objectives.
  • Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to exceed their expectations.
  • Begin to build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage and develop your skills and help solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Safety, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Engineering or related science degree.
  • 4+ years relevant experience with exposure to the technology, pharmaceutical/biotech, manufacturing, power, chemical, and oil and gas sectors preferred.
  • Experience managing direct reports and/or project staff, scoping and managing project budgets and expenses highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the SF Bay Area as well as some occasional travel outside of the local Bay Area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction.
  • Effectively and succinctly, communicate with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.
  • Good team player, especially during challenging situations.
  • Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.

Skills

  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • Knowledge of California regulations and local, state and federal EHS regulations.

Pay

The annual base pay for this role is $100,474 – $127,553 USD. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Schedule

This position requires frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Chemical, Engineering, or a related science or engineering degree.
  • CSP, CIH, or similar certification/qualification.
