Manager, Work Authorization Compliance
About the role
The Manager, Work Authorization Compliance leads the design, execution, and continuous improvement of Aramark's centralized employment eligibility compliance program. This role is accountable for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant Form I-9 and E-Verify processes across a large, distributed workforce.
The Manager establishes and enforces standard operating procedures, drives proactive audit and reporting practices, builds manager capability through training and clear guidance, and serves as the primary liaison between Managers, HR, Legal, and HRIT on all compliance-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Compliance Oversight
- Own end-to-end design and execution of the I-9 and E-Verify compliance program, from offer through Employment Authorized status
- Establish and maintain standardized operating procedures that enable consistent, compliant execution across US Food and Facilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Form I-9, E-Verify, and related employment eligibility regulations; monitor regulatory changes and assess operational impact
- Partner with Legal to interpret complex cases and ensure program alignment with federal requirements
- Audit, Reporting & Accountability
- Build and maintain executive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into compliance posture, case volumes, error rates, and risk indicators
- Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks for the compliance team; ensure consistent tracking and reporting cadence to HR leadership
- Lead a continuous internal audit program to identify errors, trends, and systemic gaps before they become legal exposure
- Manager Enablement & Training
- Develop and deliver training materials that equip hiring managers and HR partners to execute I-9 processes
- Provide clear escalation paths and decision frameworks so managers can resolve common issues without requiring centralized intervention
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Partner with HRIT to evaluate and implement technology solutions that automate, streamline, or strengthen compliance workflows leveraging AI as appropriate
- Establish a field advisory council incorporating continuous feedback to help prioritize efforts
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and increase scalability as headcount and transaction volumes grow
- Contribute to broader centralized HR automation and shared services roadmaps as a compliance SME
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience
- 4–6 years of HR operations or compliance experience, with direct exposure to I-9/E-Verify administration in a high-volume environment
- Prior experience leading or supervising a team
- Project management skills and experience
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence managers, HR partners, Legal, and technology teams
- Working knowledge of Form I-9 regulations, E-Verify requirements, and relevant federal employment law
- Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences
- Experience building or maintaining SOPs, audit frameworks, or compliance reporting tools
- Experience in a large, distributed workforce environment preferred; familiarity with HR systems (SAP or similar) a plus
