About the role
This is a builder's role, not a caretaker's. If you know your way around a maintenance bay and you are ready to lead, this is the role that lets you prove what you can do.
Responsibilities
- Runs the day-to-day of one of our vehicle maintenance operation depots: the fleet, the equipment, and most importantly the team of technicians who keep it all road-ready.
- Sets the schedule, plans and tracks the work, develops your people, and makes sure every bus is safe and ready when service starts.
- Helps us run a modern shop using an HRIS for scheduling, a work order management system for planning and tracking labor, and digital timekeeping.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- An automotive technical training or a degree in business, operations, or engineering is a strong plus.
- A CDL with appropriate endorsements, or the ability to obtain one, is required.
- The position is safety-sensitive and subject to DOT physical qualification standards.
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in the work and in technology, and the drive to keep learning as the fleet and the tools evolve.
- Hands-on vehicle maintenance experience strong enough to earn the respect of the technicians you lead (at least 2 years required).
- Proven leadership ability: the skill to motivate a team, hold people accountable fairly, and turn a group of technicians into a high-performing crew.
- A positive, solutions-first attitude, especially when the day does not go to plan.
- Comfort with computerized maintenance management, scheduling, and work order systems, or the drive to master them quickly.
