About the role

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Boring Company truck drivers to ensure constant transportation support for production operations, including muck haul from mining, precast deliveries to mining operations, and ad hoc movement of inventory between sites.
  • Assign tasks, set performance metrics, and work with team members to ensure metrics are met.
  • Independently lead shift troubleshooting and management with minimal supervision.
  • Hire, onboard, and train truck drivers, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Ensure all assigned shift truck drivers maintain current Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) requirements.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records for fleet registration, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new equipment, including inspection, registration, and integration into the fleet.
  • Define and enforce a preventive maintenance program for all assigned trucks in conjunction with in-house and outsourced mechanics; ensure 100% on-time completion of preventive maintenance and report to management.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of all assigned trucks, equipment, and parts required for preventive maintenance, aiming for 100% inventory accuracy and zero stockouts.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience with internal fleet and driver management.
  • Possess a current Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL).
  • Strong organizational and task-switching skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, compartmentalize, and prioritize changing demands.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and procurement software.

Position may require extended work hours.
