About the role

The Manager, Training & Communications serves as the organization’s lead internal communications writer and content strategist, responsible for translating business priorities, change initiatives, and learning programs into clear, compelling, and actionable content for employees and leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise internal communications and training content strategies that support employee understanding, learning, engagement, behavior change, and organizational alignment.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary internal writer and editor, developing communication and instructional content across channels including email, intranet, presentations, training materials, leader toolkits, job aids, scripts, FAQs, campaigns, and employee resources.
  • Provide strategic writing support on behalf of leaders, including executive communications, announcements, presentations, and talking points, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational voice.
  • Lead the design and development of written learning content for onboarding, professional development, operational training, system rollouts, policy updates, and process changes, ensuring content is structured, accessible, engaging, and aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to translate complex operational, technical, and compliance-related information into clear, actionable communication and learning experiences, including policies, handbook updates, benefits programs (e.g., open enrollment, scholarships), and regulatory requirements. Develop communication and reinforcement strategies that support organizational change, employee adoption, knowledge retention, and sustained performance outcomes.
  • Create leader-ready communication and facilitation resources including talking points, presentations, discussion guides, FAQs, coaching tools, and reinforcement materials that support effective team-level communication and learning.
  • Establish and maintain standards, governance, and best practices for internal communications and learning content to ensure consistency in tone, clarity, accessibility, usability, and instructional quality.
  • Ensure communications are accessible and inclusive, including coordination of translation needs and adaptation of content for diverse audiences and formats.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of centralized communication resources (e.g., communications center, templates, toolkits) to improve consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across the organization.
  • Support employee engagement, culture, and recognition initiatives through storytelling, communication planning, campaign development, and content creation that strengthens employee connection, reinforces company values, and celebrates achievements.
  • Partner across Human Resources, Operations, Safety, Legal, leadership, and external communications to ensure messaging, training content, and organizational initiatives are accurate, aligned, and strategically coordinated.
  • Manage communication and training content workflows, editorial calendars, and project timelines while providing editing, consultation, and quality assurance support across the organization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication and learning initiatives using engagement metrics, feedback, adoption indicators, and performance outcomes to continuously improve content strategies, delivery approaches, and employee experience.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 5–8 years of experience in internal communications, content writing, training communications, or related fields.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information into clear, actionable messaging.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training, instructional, or enablement content.
  • Strong experience supporting change initiatives through communication.
  • Proven ability to partner with subject matter experts and leaders to shape effective messaging.
  • High attention to detail, tone, and audience needs.
  • Strong project and content management skills.

Qualifications

  • Rate: $80,000 - $100,000 annually
