About the role
Creates a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment by supervising nursing and ancillary staff, ensuring high-quality care and staff engagement. Collaborates with healthcare team members to optimize clinical operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and enhance patient, family, and physician satisfaction. Leads daily unit activities, recruits and retains skilled personnel, and develops strategies for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily unit operations, staffing, and patient care activities
- Build and maintain a high-performing team through recruitment, coaching, and development
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Facilitate effective communication among staff, physicians, and patients
- Monitor care quality, analyze data, and implement improvements
- Manage staffing schedules, including overtime and resource allocation
- Participate in emergency preparedness and safety protocols
- Perform other related duties to support organizational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of five years' clinical experience; leadership experience preferred
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to supervise, mentor staff, and handle complex patient care scenarios
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality improvement processes
- CPR/BLS certification preferred; specialty certifications in nursing administration desirable
