About the role

The Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team provides comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services in areas such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, and sustainability. We work closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges in complex and highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, validate, and normalize transactional, commercial, and operational data (e.g., product-level sales, claims data, rebate and chargeback data, inventory, pipeline, and customer/channel data) to develop and test hypotheses for a given M&A deal.
  • Work as part of cross-functional teams providing financial, accounting, operational and commercial due diligence.
  • Utilize visual analytics skills to tell a compelling story of revenue quality, pricing realization, reimbursement exposure, and operational performance.
  • Provide meaningful insights to clients crucial to their deal investment hypothesis.
  • Coordinate with client business and IT personnel to identify, collect, and validate transactional and operational data within highly regulated environments.
  • Assess revenue quality, payer mix, reimbursement exposure, and contract dynamics within healthcare services and medical products businesses.
  • Design and develop visualizations and dashboards that deliver crucial financial and operational buy and sell-side insights.
  • Analyze financial & key performance indicator deal data for trends and outliers.
  • Directly advise clients on critical aspects of M&A transactions within various industries.
  • Collaborate with other transaction service analytics professionals, members of the deal teams, and clients to produce analyses within fast-paced transaction deadlines.
  • Lead and mentor a team of consultants, fostering professional development, promoting collaboration, and establishing clear expectations when working together towards client deliverables on projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience analyzing or managing accounting, financial or transactional data.
  • Strong understanding of multiple business cycles (e.g., Order-to-cash revenue cycle, procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business analytics and relational database concepts.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to extract and visualize insights from large data sets.
  • Experience in ETL tools for data extraction and manipulation (e.g., Alteryx, etc.).
  • Experience designing and storytelling via data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel Charts, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others.

Preferred

  • Prior experience at a large or mid-size consulting firm focused on finance or accounting services.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience managing teams in a consulting environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of data structures and database design.
  • Knowledge of how to use programming languages for data analyses: SQL, Python, R or other languages.
  • Master of Business Administration or similar degree.
  • CPA, CA certification.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $141,200 to $278,300.
