About the role
The opportunity provides direction, leadership, and coaching to the Spinning Department staff. The ability to diagnose and fix while leading others is important, along with making recommendations related to Spinning issues, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Ensures Spinning Maintenance Department objectives are met including project, cost, productivity, quality, and safety factors.
- Manages Spinning and Winding technical staff by assigning work duties, establishing work priorities, providing direction & expertise, guidance, and corrective actions.
- Assesses, trains, and develops competencies for the Spinning & Winding Maintenance function.
- Determines Spinning and Winding maintenance schedules, sequence, and assignment for work activities based on mill priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
- Maintains spare parts inventory and orders parts, supplies, and materials, as needed, to ensure continuity in the Spinning Department production schedule.
- Champions safety initiatives and adheres to company safety standards and requirements.
- Drives culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Understands business needs quickly and has excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to engage people at all levels to drive change.
- Actions impact various aspects of the business including quality, production, project-based work, staffing, development, and day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrated ability of proficiency in Microsoft Office, record keeping, routine database activity, spreadsheet preparation, and ability to review basic financial targets and develop programs to overcome deficiencies through data.
- Works with Human Resources to support all aspects of staffing and promote retention efforts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Years of work experience in a manufacturing/Industrial environment
- Bachelor's Degree required; Manufacturing/Operations preferred
- Must have 3-5 years management experience; Textile or Engineering orientation preferred
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be a team player with strong communication skills
- Must be mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills
- Must have a high level of safety awareness
- Ability to work in a cotton dust environment
