About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing biotech/pharma organization in Rossmoor, CA that is looking for a hands-on procurement leader to manage sourcing, supplier relationships, purchasing processes, and a team of buyers. This is a strong opportunity for someone with procurement leadership experience in biotech, pharma, life sciences, medical device, or another regulated environment. The right person will know how to manage vendors, negotiate contracts, improve purchasing processes, support compliance, and keep operations moving without delays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of procurement buyers.
  • Oversee purchase orders, quotes, proposals, supplier onboarding, contracts, and procurement metrics.
  • Manage sourcing for indirect commodities, services, capital projects, and operational goods.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and support contract commitments.
  • Partner with finance, operations, quality, supply chain, and internal teams to solve purchasing issues.
  • Drive cost savings, supplier performance, and process improvements.
  • Support inventory needs through vendor-managed inventory partners.
  • Help maintain compliant procurement practices, SOPs, policies, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of purchasing, sourcing, or procurement experience.
  • 2+ years leading or supervising a procurement/purchasing team.
  • Background in biotech, pharma, life sciences, medical device, or regulated manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, supplier compliance, documentation, and regulated purchasing.
  • Experience with RFQs, RFPs, contracts, vendor onboarding, negotiations, and purchase orders.
  • ERP experience required.
  • Experience supporting or writing SOPs, policies, or procurement procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
