Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads sourcing strategies and procurement initiatives for assigned non-clinical categories.
- Manages end-to-end sourcing projects including scope development, supplier research, bidding (RFP/RFI/RFQ), evaluation, and award decisions.
- Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand needs and ensure sourcing strategies align with organizational priorities.
- Develops and implements category strategies that deliver cost savings, process efficiencies, service improvements, and risk mitigation.
- Oversees supplier selection and negotiation of pricing, terms, and performance metrics with an emphasis on long-term value.
- Analyzes total cost of ownership, new technologies, and benchmarks supplier offerings to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Collaborates with finance and department leads to track savings and ensure budget alignment.
- Facilitates supplier onboarding and transition activities; manages supplier performance including service levels, issue resolution, and contract compliance.
- Provides market intelligence and industry trends to support decision-making.
- PARTNERS WITH LEGAL DURING CONTRACTING PHASE TO ENSURE ALIGNMENT BETWEEN SOURCING INTENT AND FINAL AGREEMENTS.
- Continuously identifies and implements sourcing process improvements and category optimizations.
- SUPPORTS INTERNAL TRAINING AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT RELATED TO SOURCED SERVICES AND NEW VENDOR PROCESSES.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (supply chain, finance, accounting, business).
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, or procurement functions.
- Indirect spend or multi-site management experience preferred.
- Prior experience with travel management programs, event services, freight, or facilities-related supplies preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), sourcing tools, and ERP/procurement systems.
- Knowledge of contract lifecycle is preferred but not primary.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
