For our client, we are seeking a Manager, Software Engineering (Infra Foundations) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead a team focused on building and operating the infrastructure foundations that enable reliable, secure, and scalable cloud environments. The manager will define the roadmap, partner closely with Security and other stakeholders, and drive automation and operational excellence across core infrastructure services. The position is well suited for a hands-on engineering leader who can balance technical depth in AWS and infrastructure tooling with strong people leadership and cross-functional alignment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $181,000 – $241,000 annually Responsibilities Define and execute the multi-quarter vision and roadmap for infrastructure foundations. Lead and mentor the infrastructure engineering team, promoting collaboration and technical excellence. Work with stakeholders to align infrastructure priorities with overall infrastructure and security objectives. Ensure reliability and safety in AWS provisioning, networking, and IAM access. Drive automation initiatives for provisioning and managing cloud environments using IaC frameworks. Oversee essential operational programs like AWS quota management and configuration management. Set and maintain operational standards, including SLAs and incident response procedures. Collaborate with Security to implement least-privilege IAM practices and governance. Qualifications 7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering management. Proven experience leading engineering teams in infrastructure or platform engineering. Strong technical background in AWS and cloud-native infrastructure systems. Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code practices (Terraform, Spacelift) and GitOps workflows. Experience building automation solutions adopted by other teams. Track record of maintaining high reliability standards in operational services. Familiarity with least-privilege IAM models and access governance with Security. Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Kotlin. Strong leadership and communication skills with experience mentoring teams. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
