About the role
The Manager Software Development role is part of KNAPP, a global leader in warehouse automation solutions. This position oversees software development teams and ensures projects are delivered efficiently, adhering to quality standards and budget constraints.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage software development team members and Team Leads
- Assess staffing needs and align resources across projects
- Oversee software development project execution to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, and escalate issues as appropriate
- Ensure adherence to development standards, including regular code reviews and documentation
- Coordinate interfaces with Project Management, Commissioning, Quality Management, and other internal stakeholders
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project delivery, quality, and resource utilization
- Support Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives and maintain quality management documentation in alignment with the QM manual
Requirements
- Technical and/or economic training in Software Development or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in software development or software project execution
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a managerial or team leadership role
- Intermediate knowledge of KNAPP products, systems, and internal processes
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of software development methodologies and project execution
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop employees and manage team performance
Qualifications
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Passport or ability to obtain passport
- Professional office etiquette is required at all times
- Ability to travel by air both domestically (US) and internationally (primarily to Austria)
- Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 50 pounds
